Mijas will attend, next week, the IFTM, the International Tourism Fair of France, which will take place from the 20th to the 22nd of September in Paris. The municipality aims to promote the town as a whole but especially highlights its beaches and golf courses. They are the reasons why the Mijas attractions are chosen by thousands of tourists every year.

The Mijas Tourism Councillor, José Carlos Martín (Cs), explained the importance of French tourism in the town, "according to the numbers we have had of French tourists, they are the third largest visitors to our municipality, with a percentage of around 11%". "We want to maintain the French market's loyalty, which fits perfectly with what we are looking for, a sustainable tourist profile, which looks more for quality than numbers. The segments that Mijas offers as an attraction are what they are looking for, especially our beaches and golf," added the Councillor.

Mijas will attend the event, of great importance for the tourism sector with 'Tour España', 'Turismo Andaluz', and the Tourist Board. The clear objective is "promoting our municipality, continue to capture our potential customers in this market, and show the benefits of our municipality. This way, next year instead of having this percentage of 11%, the number of tourists coming to our municipality will increase, especially with the French tourist profile", explained Martín.

The director of the Tourist Office, Juan Carlos Acevedo, stated that "French tourism has seen a spectacular rise, especially during the time of the pandemic, and now the results are also being marked because it is a very loyal tourist destination.
