The Municipal Park Improvement Plan in Mijas has contemplated an action plan in the Los Olivos park located in La Cala de Mijas. It includes the installation of a 20-metre zip line and the creation of a children’s area.

According to municipal officials, in the coming weeks, the elderly will also have their own leisure space within the park. “Today a play area with this 20-metre zip line, and a children’s play area, have been made available to the residents and visitors of this park, for which noble materials have been used”, said the mayor of Mijas, Josele González ( PSOE).

According to the mayor, with this action, areas that are benchmarks in Mijas are implemented, such as the El Esparragal park, which has been recently improved, or Los Olivos. González pointed out that at the request of the elderly, the petanque area will also be improved.

“It was an improvement that the neighbours asked of us, we have some more action plans pending here in Los Olivos. We have already updated the barbecue area, we have also made improvements to the benches and tables and will soon launch the petanque area”, González highlighted.

The mayor visited the works in Los Olivos park on Wednesday 13th, accompanied by the councillor for Parks and Gardens, Laura Moreno (PSOE).

“It is part of the park renovation project and the improvement of all those leisure areas in our municipality. It is a fairly ambitious plan and in a few days we will also be in the La Muralla area, in Mijas Pueblo”, Moreno said.

The municipal officials also highlighted the 18 rubber floors that have been renovated and, added the councillor for Parks and Gardens, the games in some children’s areas of these spaces have also been replaced.
