  • The M-122 line will also be reinforced, increasing the number of journeys to 28 |

This service will be extended on August 13th, with the Celtic Night celebration, as will the M-122 line (Mijas-Fuengirola)

Throughout August, the Transport and Mobility Department of Mijas Town Council will offer a second shuttle bus from the El Puerto quarry to Mijas town centre. This second vehicle will provide service seven days a week from 7 pm to 11 pm. "Also, the line will reinforce coinciding with the flamenco show and the craft market held in the Virgen de la Peña Square, on Wednesday mornings, specifically from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. On Friday 5th, the Councillor responsible for this department, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), stressed "this second shuttle bus is in addition to the one that already operates daily from 11 am to midnight".

Celtic Night Service Reinforcement

Likewise, for the Celtic Night celebration on Saturday 13th August, the shuttle bus service will extend its timetable until 2 am. "It is a festival that has been well established for many years and is attended by many visitors, also from neighbouring municipalities", explained Cruz.

Likewise, there will be a reinforcement on the M-122 line that will increase the number of journeys to 28, offering its last from Mijas Pueblo at 02:30 am. "This is an ordinary public transport line that brings Fuengirola and Las Lagunas closer to Mijas Pueblo that we understand is necessary to reinforce due to the influx of people that night," added the Councillor.

Cruz encouraged residents to use public transportation to avoid traffic jams, use less fuel and "facilitate village access, which is very limited in terms of parking spaces".
Finally, the head of Transport recalled that "just a few days ago, we extended stops on the M-222 and M-223 lines to continue facilitating the mobility of our residents in urbanisations and scattered areas. We will support this line to reinforce public transport service for major events, leisure, cultural or sport. We want to continue providing a useful alternative to the private vehicle".
